Before starting tattoo removal treatment, we offer a free consultation to asses your tattoo. We talk with you about your expectations and goals, then draw up your treatment plan.
A patch test will be undertaken to determine your suitability for tattoo removal. It is possible to commence treatments 48 hours after a test patch consultation. No treatment will commence without a patch test.
WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?
The amount of time required for the removal of a tattoo and the success of the removal varies with each individual and their immune system function. Anything from tattoo location to colours used can be an influencing factor.
During the treatment, the laser light hits the tattoo ink and breaks it down. Tcreates an initial whitening of the area treated known as ‘frosting’, which can last several minutes to several hours. Over a period a minimum period of 6 weeks, the ink is then absorbed and eliminated by your body’s natural healing process.
Short term possible side effects can include reddening, bruising and or blistering, but these side effects will subside within a few days. We will provide you with full pre and post care instructions before each treatment. The tattoo will gradually fade with each treatment over the course of a few months.
A reduction in pigmentation is noticeable after just one treatment. However, a course of treatments is recommended for best results. The number of treatments required will depend on the size, depth and colour of the tattoo.
There should be a minimum 6-8-week gap between laser sessions to allow the wounds to heal and the body to absorb as much of the ink as is possible.
